UDT authorisations - training
Operator/maintenance - UDT qualification
In order to acquire licences for equipment such as cranes, overhead cranes or forklifts, you must first attend a training course. The Office of Technical Inspection deals with the granting of operator and maintenance qualifications. Our ERGON Centre for Staff Improvement works with the UDT, so you can be sure that your qualification certificate will be valid and legal. Find out what you need to do to start training and, most importantly, what qualifications it will give you.
What is included in the training?
Training programme
The classes are divided into theoretical and practical parts. During the lectures, the participant learns, among other things:
- construction of the device in question,
- technical supervision regulations,
- operator/maintenance duties,
- health and safety regulations,
- techniques for the safe operation of the machine.
After the lecture part, the participant undertakes tasks with the equipment, under the guidance of our instructors. Study materials are provided to each trainee, as well as a set of questions with answers that may appear on the UDT exam. This is very helpful for learning and makes it much easier to pass such an exam.
Theoretical classes can take place online.
Course format
All UDT training courses can be held in an open format. Admission is open to anyone who is interested in gaining authorisation for a particular piece of equipment. On the other hand, another mode - closed - is intended for a specific organised group, e.g. people from one workplace.
Final exam
During the course, participants learn about the health and safety regulations required at work. This way, they are aware of the risks they are exposed to when operating a forklift, for example. Once the training is over and the trainees are fully familiar with all the standards, they can take the state examination before the UDT examination board.
UDT equipment
The Technical Inspection Ordinance contains a full list of equipment, but it is worth mentioning the most important ones. These include:
- cranes,
- cranes,
- winches,
- mobile platforms,
- forklift trucks,
- facilities for people with disabilities,
- hoists,
- aerial work platforms,
- scissor lifts.
It is worth noting that the Office of Technical Inspection is the main institution involved in this process and has the task of inspecting the condition of equipment. Its tasks also include the examination of operators and maintainers and the issuing of licences, as well as qualification activities for equipment manufacturers and their users.
Initial requirements for candidates
- at least 18 years old,
- no health contraindications,
- at least primary education.

Welcome to ERGON
If you want to obtain a certificate of qualification for equipment such as forklift trucks, cranes or mobile platforms, sign up for a course at the ERGON Personnel Improvement Centre! Our trainees will acquire all the skills they need to pass the exam and be certified. During the classes, we combine theory and practice, so we try to apply the guidelines and particular standards when using the equipment as part of the practical part of the course.
