We organise professional courses and training for forklift trucks, including telescopic loaders. In our ERGON Centre for Staff Improvement you will acquire knowledge, delivered in a very accessible manner, that will enable you to prepare for your new position. The high quality of our teaching is evidenced by excellent references and customer feedback, as well as a high pass rate on the Office of Technical Inspection exams by our trainees.

Post-course work

Courses to prepare for work as a maintenance or forklift operator are very popular. The reason for this is the high demand for skilled workers. In addition to working in warehouses, such people can find employment in the industry:

  • renovation and construction,
  • industry,
  • horticulture,
  • agricultural,
  • Rail,
  • port.

Topics covered during maintenance and operator training:

  • construction and general characteristics of telehandlers, i.e. information on the electrical system, engine, boom, hydraulic and braking systems,
  • principles of technical supervision of telehandlers, i.e. the required authorisations to operate them, keeping records of equipment,
  • restoration of telescopic handlers,
  • types of working equipment,
  • different technologies for operating specialised trucks,
  • maintenance of the machine's structural components, i.e. electrical system, boom, engine, hydraulic system and braking system,
  • fire and safety rules when working with specialised forklift trucks.

Telescopic handlers - characteristics

These are machines which are one type of forklift truck. They belong to the category of so-called specialised forklifts. One of their advantages is that they have a hydrostatic drive and a four-wheel drive mechanism. In addition, because they are fitted with special tyres, they can be used when working on difficult surfaces. They have a variable outreach, which makes them capable of lifting a load of 20 tonnes to a height of up to 30 metres.

Telescopic handlers have the ability to change attachments, so they can replace the work of other equipment such as loaders, cranes, other forklifts or mobile platforms. Attachments that can be attached to loaders include:

  • pitchforks,
  • working platforms,
  • mowers,
  • spoons,
  • ploughs.

Telescopic handlers can vary in design. There are two types of these machines:

  • Telescopic handlers - Their construction consists of swivel heads, which allow the operator to change the position of the cab and change the position of the boom by 360 degrees,
  • Rigid telescopic handlers, front end - the operator's cab is not able to rotate as it is rigidly positioned on the arm of the machine.

The ERGON Personnel Improvement Centre also provides courses in the operation and maintenance of telehandlers and other types of forklift trucks, such as:

  • lifting,
  • combustion engines with LPG cylinder replacement,
  • lifting the operator together with the load,
  • electrical/high-voltage storage,
  • forklift trucks.
