Training as maintenance technicians for deck cranes
Course for UDT authorisations for maintenance of deck cranes
Our training offer includes courses for operators and maintainers of ship's cranes or other equipment subject to UDT. Our professional course will help you to acquire or renew the necessary authorisations to operate or maintain ship cranes.
Brief description of deck cranes
The deck crane is an extremely important piece of equipment that plays a key role in maritime and port transport, as well as in the offshore sector. It is a reliable tool that enables the safe and efficient handling of heavy loads on board a vessel. This crane is mounted on a special platform on board the vessel and its design ensures stability and durability when handling loads. Its strength and reach allow loads to be manoeuvred easily and safely, which is particularly important in situations where the cargo is unstable or difficult to move by hand. The deck crane is an indispensable tool for the maritime and port industry, and its reliability and functionality are essential for the efficient and safe transport of cargo.

Exam
Upon completion of the course, the participant takes a state examination before an examination board of the Office of Technical Inspection to assess his/her knowledge and skills in the maintenance and operation of deck cranes. The exam consists of two parts: theoretical and practical.
The theoretical part is conducted in the form of a single-choice test, which consists of answering a series of questions on safety and technology used in the field. Once successful in this part, the participant moves on to the practical part, where his or her skills are assessed during the actual use of the crane.
After passing the exam, the student is awarded a maintenance or deck crane operator's licence, allowing him or her to use this equipment safely and effectively on his or her work site. These qualifications are valid for five years and after this time they must be renewed by completing another course and passing the exam again.
Obtaining these authorisations is important not only for the safety of the participant, but also for others in the vicinity of the crane, as well as for maintaining good quality of work and compliance with legislation.
