Floating crane course
Training in the operation of floating cranes
The ERGON Personnel Improvement Centre specialises in providing courses and training for operators and maintainers throughout Poland and even abroad. Persons wishing to start working as operators or maintainers must obtain the relevant qualifications. Qualifications can be acquired by passing a state examination held before a commission appointed by the Office of Technical Inspection.
If you want to take the exam, you need to take a course where you will be taught everything about floating cranes from scratch. Our company offers training courses that are conducted by real professionals. Our qualified staff have the experience, as well as the necessary qualifications for training, so we guarantee you a high level of teaching.
What things will you learn during the course?
Among the information you will learn during your floating crane training we can include:
- general information on the crane,
- device design,
- the electrical and mechanical safety features used on the crane,
- what duties the operator and maintainer must perform during their work,
- operation of the equipment,
- information on technical supervision,
- health and safety rules,
- a skilful technical assessment of the machine before starting work.
You will learn these things during the course and we will also teach you how to operate a floating crane. Practical classes will take place so that the student masters the skills to steer it responsibly and safely.
How do I get the rights?
Obtaining a licence for a floating crane is similar to that for other equipment under the UDT. The first thing we need to do is to attend a training course designed to prepare us to operate the machine, and then, once the course has been completed, we need to take a state exam. The exam consists of a written test and a test of practical skills before a commission appointed by the UDT. Stage 1 consists of a written test of the theoretical knowledge acquired during the course in front of a commission. Stage 2, on the other hand, is about demonstrating our practical skills; here we have to show that we can work with a floating crane. If we pass both stages, we will be issued with a certificate of competence and will be able to work with this equipment. The period of validity is 5 years, and if we want to extend the period of validity, we have to submit an application no less than 3 months before the expiry of the document. If we want our application to be granted, we need to have worked with the floating crane for a minimum of 3 years from the moment we received our entitlement.
What can you expect from our lecturers?

Where are floating cranes used?
Floating cranes, commonly referred to as deck cranes or ship cranes, are lifting devices that are used for the unloading and loading of various goods. Their use has proved successful on ships, but they are also used on offshore platforms.
