Service course

All heavy equipment is subject to an extremely high probability of failure. Inspections are therefore essential, not only because of the requirements of the OTI, but also because of the tasks they perform in a wide variety of industries. Service and maintenance are therefore needed to maintain the continuity of work, as well as to ensure the safety of employees.

During maintenance work, our employees deal with, among other things:

  • checking equipment for safety,
  • creating thorough documentation of the entire process for the owner to review,
  • control system diagnostics,
  • diagnostics of hydraulic systems,
  • the rectification of any defects encountered.

UDT

UDT, or Office of Technical Inspection. It is a state institution which supervises the safety of the correct operation of all kinds of technical and construction equipment. The Act on Technical Supervision of 20.12.2000 specifies which machines and under what conditions construction work, for example, should be carried out.

UDT equipment

The equipment supervised by the UDT is mostly equipment used for particularly critical industrial tasks. These are so-called heavy equipment. Anyone wishing to operate such equipment should obtain the necessary qualifications. For almost every piece of equipment, a specialised and compulsory course must be completed, culminating in an examination held before a commission from the Office of Technical Inspection.

The categories of machinery listed by the UDT are:

  • non-pressurised,
  • pressure,
  • for fuel vapour recovery,
  • short sea shipping.

UDT standards and requirements

The current regulations clearly state that equipment subject to UDT must be inspected at specific times. Their owners are therefore legally obliged to arrange routine checks and inspections. Failure to do so can result in hefty financial penalties for the UDT.

Documentation

The Office of Technical Inspection issues documents for the operation and maintenance of certain technical equipment. For many companies, this is fundamental, for development and operation. What is more, failure to comply with the standards and rules of the UDT is subject to administrative penalties. For these reasons, we always recommend that our clients systematically inspect their equipment and obtain UDT authorisations.

We also offer:

  • fire and health and safety training,
  • training for the operation and maintenance of mobile platforms (aerial work platforms and scissor lifts), overhead cranes, forklifts, telescopic handlers and others,
  • maintenance,
  • modernisations,
  • audits,
  • sale of new and second-hand equipment,
  • the opportunity to inspect the machine before purchase.
