Scaffolding work is essential in the construction and renovation sector, as well as in window cleaning and building restoration. As the economy grows, more and more tall buildings, such as blocks of flats or high-rise buildings, are being built. When a machine cannot access a certain place or it is unsafe to do so, it is necessary to employ a fitter. Such a specialist can easily get into narrow spaces. In today's labour market, a specialist such as a scaffolder is increasingly in demand. The earnings can also be satisfactory and are definitely more than the lowest national wage.

Earnings in this position, as in any other, are mainly dependent on our skills and employer. However, specialists in this position are satisfied with their salary. Abroad, salaries are much higher and a large proportion of specialists, after completing their course, leave for work. Less experienced specialists can expect to be paid up to twice as much in Germany as in Poland.
Scaffold fitter, can also take on additional paid casual work, for example in stage management at various events and shows.
What types of scaffolding are there?
Carrying out any renovation or construction work cannot do without robust structures. Due to the particular type and classification, there are several types of scaffolding.
The most commonly chosen scaffolds are:
- modular - consist of crossbars and stands in between which access is provided to connect other scaffolding components. This gives the structures used for large outdoor events and stage construction;
- columns - Also known as Warsaw scaffolding, these are steel-framed structures. Scaffolding is erected quickly and the design does not allow for assembly errors;
- stand - They are among the strongest structures, are stiffened with deck chairs and stringers, and are ideal for holding heavy weights on the scaffolding;
- frame - have flat structures that fold up quickly and are connected by anchors. They are usually used for small finishing jobs.
