HDS crane service
Repair of HDS cranes
A HDS crane is also referred to as a handling crane or mobile crane. It is a device that is used for loading and unloading various types of goods. It is used in many fields and is steadily gaining in popularity.
ERGON Centre for Staff Improvement understands the needs of users and therefore we carry out maintenance and repairs on all types of HDS cranes.
How is a HDS crane constructed?
The construction of all mobile cranes is made up of so-called fixed and variable elements.
Fixed elements, that:
- device stance,
- column, which is vertically attached to the base,
- a boom with which the load can be transported,
- supports used to stabilise the crane and the vehicle on which it is placed.
Variable elements, that:
- grippers, which are mostly used in the timber industry,
- a hook that is used to grasp the goods and move them to their destination,
- a hydraulic system to speed up the machine, typically used when working with building materials.
What types of HDS cranes are there?
There are the following types of HDS cranes:
Transshipment cranes - They make it easy to load goods and move them to the desired location. They are located just behind the driver's cab of the vehicle, making it considerably easier to deliver the load to its destination. This type of crane is divided into two categories: loading cranes, which are located in the middle of the vehicle, handling cranes, which have a box built into the back of the vehicle for placing the goods. |
General-purpose cranes - As the name suggests, their use is very wide. Cranes are located on the chassis of a vehicle and therefore allow rapid movement. Thanks to their rigid construction on the vehicle chassis, they allow the overhang to be rotated horizontally and materials to be transported by the person driving the unit. It is easy to both lift and lower the goods. |
Cranes used in the timber industry - are characterised by the fact that they are usually smaller than general-purpose cranes, which significantly helps their use in the timber industry. Instead of hooks, it has grabs for lifting pieces of felled trees. |
HDS crane maintenance
Regular maintenance allows HDS cranes to operate for a long, safe and trouble-free period. Manufacturers recommend inspecting the technical condition of the equipment every three to six months, every year or after operating for a certain number of hours. In addition to this, tests are carried out by an inspector from the Office of Technical Inspection. They are carried out every year or once every two years, depending on the type of crane.
Our company undertakes services for domestic and non-Polish equipment. We deal with, among others:
- control of the correct labelling of the equipment,
- technical inspection of the equipment,
- maintenance inspection of the unit,
- adjustment of the equipment to the UDT guidelines,
- RESURSEM, which is the determination of the level of use of the device,
- assistance in drawing up the UDT documentation,
- making entries in the maintenance log,
- making an entry in the verification protocol.
Technical equipment which is subject to technical inspection may only be used if the competent authority of the technical inspection body allows it. Failure to carry out the inspection within the period specified in the technical documentation will result in the loss of the guarantee for the equipment in question. It is also worth taking care of the condition of the maintenance records, which are checked during the periodic inspection.
